Ingredients

  • Spaghetti - 150 grams
  • Unsalted butter - 50 grams
  • Garlic - 4 cloves, minced
  • Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste
  • Parmesan cheese - 30 grams, grated (optional)

Steps

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente, about 8-10 minutes.
  2. While the pasta is cooking, melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
  4. Once the spaghetti is cooked, reserve 1/4 cup of the pasta water and then drain the remaining water.
  5. Add the drained spaghetti directly to the skillet with the garlic butter. Toss to coat the noodles evenly.
  6. If the noodles seem dry, add a little bit of the reserved pasta water to achieve the desired consistency.
  7. Stir in the chopped parsley and season with salt and black pepper to taste.
  8. Serve immediately, topped with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
