- Milk - 240 ml (1 cup)
- Vanilla extract - 5 ml (1 tsp)
- Cinnamon - 2 g (1/2 tsp)
- Nutmeg - 1 g (1/4 tsp)
- Maple syrup - 30 ml (2 tbsp) + extra for serving
- Butter - 15 g (1 tbsp), for greasing
- Fresh berries (optional) - 100 g
Steps
- Preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F) and grease a small baking dish with butter.
- Cut the brioche bread into cubes and place them evenly in the greased baking dish.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, and maple syrup until well combined.
- Pour the egg mixture over the bread cubes, ensuring all pieces are saturated. Gently press down with a fork if needed.
- Let it sit for about 10 minutes to soak up the liquid.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden and the center is set.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
