- Unsalted butter - 50 grams
- Heavy cream - 120 ml
- Parmesan cheese, grated - 60 grams
- Garlic, minced - 1 clove
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper, freshly ground - 1/4 teaspoon
- Parsley, chopped - 1 tablespoon
Steps
- Bring a large pot of salted water to boil. Add the fettuccine and cook according to package instructions until al dente, about 8-10 minutes.
- While the pasta is cooking, melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer, stirring frequently. Cook for 3-4 minutes until the cream thickens slightly.
- Reduce the heat to low and gradually add the grated Parmesan cheese, stirring continuously until the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth.
- Once the fettuccine is cooked, reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta. Add the drained fettuccine to the skillet with the Alfredo sauce.
- Toss the pasta in the sauce, adding reserved pasta water a little at a time until desired consistency is reached. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
- Serve immediately, garnished with chopped parsley and extra Parmesan cheese if desired.
