- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Avocado oil - 1 tablespoon
- Romaine lettuce leaves - 4 large
- Tomato - 1 medium, sliced
- Red onion - 1/2 medium, sliced

Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine the ground elk meat, garlic powder, onion powder, dried thyme, salt, and black pepper. Mix until evenly incorporated.
- Form the mixture into two equal-sized patties, about 2.5 cm thick.

- Once the oil is hot, place the patties in the skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach an internal temperature of 70°C.
- While the burgers are cooking, prepare the toppings: wash and dry the romaine lettuce leaves, slice the tomato and red onion, and set aside the pickles.
- Once cooked, remove the patties from the skillet and let them rest for a couple of minutes.
- To assemble the burgers, place one patty on each lettuce leaf, top with tomato slices, red onion, pickles, and a dollop of mustard.
