Ingredients

  • Croissants - 2 large
  • Eggs - 4 large
  • Shredded cheddar cheese - 100 grams
  • Milk - 2 tablespoons
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Butter - 1 tablespoon
  • Fresh chives, chopped - 1 tablespoon (optional)

Steps

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
  3. In a non-stick skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Pour in the egg mixture and cook, stirring gently, until the eggs are just set and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Remove the skillet from heat and fold in the shredded cheddar cheese until melted and well incorporated.
  5. Split the croissants in half and place them on a baking tray, cut side up. Spoon the cheesy egg mixture generously onto the bottom half of each croissant.
  6. If using, sprinkle chopped chives on top of the egg mixture, then place the top half of the croissant back on.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for about 5-7 minutes, or until the croissants are warm and slightly crispy.
  8. Serve immediately and enjoy your delicious high-protein breakfast!
