Ingredients

  • Duck breast - 300 grams
  • Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Onion powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Dried thyme - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Avocado - 1 medium
  • Lime juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Romaine lettuce leaves - 4 large
  • Tomato - 1 medium, sliced
  • Red onion - 1/4 medium, sliced

Steps

  1. Preheat a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Season the duck breast with garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Place the duck breast skin-side down in the skillet and cook for 5-7 minutes until the skin is crispy. Flip and cook for another 5-7 minutes until the duck is cooked through but still pink in the center.
  4. Remove the duck from the skillet and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing it into thick strips.
  5. While the duck is resting, prepare the avocado sauce by mashing the avocado in a bowl and mixing in lime juice and chopped cilantro until smooth.
  6. To assemble the burgers, place two large romaine lettuce leaves on each plate as the base, add sliced duck on top, then layer with tomato and red onion.
  7. Drizzle the avocado sauce over the top and serve immediately.
