- Duck breast - 300 grams
- Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
- Onion powder - 1 teaspoon
- Dried thyme - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Avocado - 1 medium
- Lime juice - 1 tablespoon
- Cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Romaine lettuce leaves - 4 large
- Tomato - 1 medium, sliced
- Red onion - 1/4 medium, sliced
Steps
- Preheat a skillet over medium heat.
- Season the duck breast with garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, salt, and black pepper.
- Place the duck breast skin-side down in the skillet and cook for 5-7 minutes until the skin is crispy. Flip and cook for another 5-7 minutes until the duck is cooked through but still pink in the center.
- Remove the duck from the skillet and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing it into thick strips.
- While the duck is resting, prepare the avocado sauce by mashing the avocado in a bowl and mixing in lime juice and chopped cilantro until smooth.
- To assemble the burgers, place two large romaine lettuce leaves on each plate as the base, add sliced duck on top, then layer with tomato and red onion.
- Drizzle the avocado sauce over the top and serve immediately.
