  • Curry powder - 1 tablespoon
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Fresh cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped (for garnish)

Steps

  1. Rinse the basmati rice under cold water until the water runs clear, then drain.
  2. In a medium saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 3-5 minutes.
  3. Stir in the minced garlic and curry powder, cooking for an additional minute until fragrant.
