Ingredients

  • Firm tofu - 300 grams
  • Cornstarch - 3 tablespoons
  • Vegetable oil - 3 tablespoons
  • Bell pepper (sliced) - 1 medium
  • Broccoli florets - 150 grams
  • Carrot (sliced) - 1 medium
  • Soy sauce - 4 tablespoons
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic (minced) - 2 cloves
  • Ginger (grated) - 1 teaspoon
  • Green onions (sliced) - 2 stalks
  • Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. Press the tofu for 15 minutes to remove excess moisture, then cut it into bite-sized cubes.
  2. In a bowl, toss the tofu cubes with cornstarch until well coated.
  3. Heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a large non-stick skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  4. Add the tofu cubes in a single layer and fry until golden and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
  5. In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of oil. Stir-fry the bell pepper, broccoli, and carrot for about 5-7 minutes until tender-crisp.
  6. Add the minced garlic and grated ginger, stir-frying for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  7. Return the crispy tofu to the skillet, then pour in the soy sauce and sesame oil. Toss everything together and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  8. Remove from heat, garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds, and serve hot.
