Ingredients

  • Russet potatoes - 400 grams
  • All-purpose flour - 30 grams
  • Cornstarch - 15 grams
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Garlic powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Onion powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Vegetable oil - 100 ml
  • Fresh parsley (chopped) - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. Peel and grate the Russet potatoes into a large bowl, then soak them in cold water for 10 minutes to remove excess starch.
  2. Drain the grated potatoes and pat them dry with a clean kitchen towel to remove as much moisture as possible.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the grated potatoes, all-purpose flour, cornstarch, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix until well combined.
  4. Preheat the oven to 220°C (425°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  5. Shape the potato mixture into small cylinders or balls, about the size of a marble, and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Drizzle the vegetable oil over the tater tots, ensuring they are evenly coated. Toss gently to coat.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy, turning them halfway through the cooking time.
  8. Remove from the oven and sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley before serving.
