Ingredients

  • Shrimp (peeled and deveined) - 300 grams
  • Almond flour - 50 grams
  • Egg - 1 large
  • Paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Onion powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Oil (for frying) - 2 tablespoons
  • Romaine lettuce leaves - 4 large
  • Avocado - 1 medium
  • Lime - 1, juiced
  • Sour cream (or Greek yogurt) - 60 grams
  • Cilantro (optional) - for garnish
  • Cherry tomatoes - 100 grams, diced
  • Red onion - 30 grams, diced

Steps

  1. In a bowl, mix the almond flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper to create the breading mixture.
  2. In a separate bowl, beat the egg until well mixed.
  3. Dip each shrimp into the egg, then coat with the almond flour mixture, pressing lightly to adhere.
  4. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Once hot, add the breaded shrimp and cook for about 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crispy.
  5. While the shrimp are cooking, prepare the lime crema by mixing the sour cream (or Greek yogurt) with lime juice in a small bowl.
  6. Assemble the tacos by placing 2-3 crispy shrimp in each lettuce leaf, topping with diced avocado, cherry tomatoes, and red onion.
  7. Drizzle with lime crema and garnish with cilantro if desired. Serve immediately.
