Ingredients

  • Red lentils - 100 grams
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Onion powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Smoked paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Cumin - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Water - 250 milliliters

Steps

  1. Rinse the red lentils under cold water until the water runs clear, then soak them in 250 milliliters of water for about 30 minutes.
  2. Drain the lentils and transfer them to a blender or food processor. Add olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, cumin, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Blend the mixture until smooth, scraping down the sides as needed. If the mixture is too thick, add a little more water until it reaches a spreadable consistency.
  4. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  5. Spread the lentil mixture evenly on the prepared baking sheet, about 1/4 inch thick.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the edges are crispy and the center is firm.
