  • Baking powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Garlic powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Onion powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Paprika - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Egg - 1 large
  • Buttermilk - 120 ml
  • Breadcrumbs - 100 grams
  • Oil for frying - 500 ml

Steps

  1. Drain the dill pickles and pat them dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
  2. In a bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, baking powder, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the egg and buttermilk until well combined.
  4. Dip each pickle slice first into the flour mixture, then into the egg mixture, and finally coat with breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere.
  5. Heat oil in a deep skillet or fryer to 180°C (350°F).
  6. Fry the pickles in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pan, for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
  7. Using a slotted spoon, remove the fried pickles and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  8. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce, such as ranch or spicy mayo.
