- Onion powder - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Low-carb BBQ sauce - 4 tablespoons
- Fresh parsley - 1 tablespoon (for garnish)
Steps
- Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).
- Press the tofu block between paper towels to remove excess moisture, then cut it into even cubes (about 1.5 cm).
- In a bowl, combine olive oil, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
- Add the tofu cubes to the bowl and gently toss until they are evenly coated with the spice mixture.
- Spread the coated tofu cubes on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper in a single layer.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, flipping halfway through to ensure even crispness.
- After 20 minutes, remove the tofu from the oven and brush each cube with low-carb BBQ sauce.
- Return the tofu to the oven and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes until the sauce is caramelized and sticky.
- Once done, remove from the oven and let cool for a couple of minutes before serving.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and enjoy your crispy BBQ tofu!
