Ingredients

  • Firm tofu - 400 grams

  • Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Onion powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Low-carb BBQ sauce - 4 tablespoons
  • Fresh parsley - 1 tablespoon (for garnish)

Steps

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. Press the tofu block between paper towels to remove excess moisture, then cut it into even cubes (about 1.5 cm).
  3. In a bowl, combine olive oil, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
  4. Add the tofu cubes to the bowl and gently toss until they are evenly coated with the spice mixture.
  5. Spread the coated tofu cubes on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper in a single layer.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, flipping halfway through to ensure even crispness.
  7. After 20 minutes, remove the tofu from the oven and brush each cube with low-carb BBQ sauce.
  8. Return the tofu to the oven and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes until the sauce is caramelized and sticky.
  9. Once done, remove from the oven and let cool for a couple of minutes before serving.
