  • Cornstarch - 3 tablespoons
  • Olive Oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Soy Sauce (low sodium) - 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic Powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Onion Powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Smoked Paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black Pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Fresh Parsley (chopped) - 2 tablespoons (for garnish)

Steps

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Drain the firm tofu and press it between paper towels to remove excess moisture for about 15 minutes.
  3. Once pressed, cut the tofu into 1.5 cm cubes.
  4. In a mixing bowl, combine cornstarch, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  5. Add the cubed tofu to the bowl and gently toss until all pieces are coated evenly with the spice mixture.
  6. Drizzle the olive oil over the coated tofu and toss again to ensure an even distribution.
  7. Spread the tofu cubes in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the tofu is golden and crispy.
  9. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before garnishing with chopped parsley.
  10. Serve warm as a main dish or over a bed of greens.
