Ingredients

  • Pasta (penne or fettuccine) - 200 grams
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Cherry tomatoes - 300 grams, halved
  • Heavy cream - 100 milliliters
  • Parmesan cheese - 50 grams, grated
  • Fresh basil - 1/4 cup, chopped
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste

Steps

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente.
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
  3. Add the halved cherry tomatoes to the skillet and cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they start to soften and release their juices.
  4. Reduce the heat to low and stir in the heavy cream, allowing it to blend with the tomatoes for about 2-3 minutes.
  5. Add the grated Parmesan cheese and stir until melted and combined. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
  6. Drain the cooked pasta and add it directly to the skillet, tossing to coat the pasta in the creamy tomato sauce.
  7. Remove from heat and mix in the chopped fresh basil just before serving.
