  • butter - 30 grams (2 tablespoons)
  • all-purpose flour - 15 grams (2 tablespoons)
  • sugar - 10 grams (1 tablespoon)
  • salt - 3 grams (1/2 teaspoon)
  • black pepper - 1 gram (1/4 teaspoon)
  • garlic powder - 1 gram (1/4 teaspoon)
  • cheddar cheese, shredded - 60 grams (1/2 cup)
  • green onions, chopped - 15 grams (2 tablespoons)

Steps

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter.
  3. Once melted, whisk in the flour and cook for about 1 minute until it forms a roux.
  4. Gradually add the heavy cream while whisking continuously to avoid lumps.
  5. Add sugar, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder to the mixture, stirring until smooth and slightly thickened, about 3-4 minutes.
  6. Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the canned sweet corn and half of the shredded cheddar cheese.
