Ingredients
- Ground beef (lean, 90% lean) - 300 grams
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Garlic powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Onion powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Cheddar cheese - 2 slices (about 50 grams)
- Burger buns - 2 units
- Lettuce leaves - 2 pieces
- Tomato - 1 medium, sliced
- Pickles - 4 slices
- Ketchup - 2 tablespoons
- Mustard - 2 teaspoons
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently until just combined.
- Divide the beef mixture into two equal portions and shape them into patties, making a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent bulging during cooking.
- Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on one side.
- Flip the patties and place a slice of cheddar cheese on top of each. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, until the cheese is melted and the patties reach your desired doneness.
- While the patties are cooking, toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.
- Assemble the burgers by placing a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun, followed by the patty with melted cheese, tomato slices, pickles, ketchup, and mustard. Top with the other half of the bun.
- Serve immediately with your favorite side.
