Ingredients

  • All-purpose flour - 125 grams
  • Granulated sugar - 50 grams
  • Baking powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Baking soda - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Ground cinnamon - 1 teaspoon
  • Unsweetened applesauce - 60 ml
  • Almond milk (or any dairy-free milk) - 60 ml
  • Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
  • Granulated sugar (for coating) - 30 grams
  • Ground cinnamon (for coating) - 1 teaspoon

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and lightly grease a donut pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and ground cinnamon.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the applesauce, almond milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
  5. Spoon the batter into the donut pan, filling each cavity about 2/3 full.
