  • milk - 1 cup (240ml)
  • large egg - 1
  • unsweetened applesauce - 1/4 cup (60ml)
  • vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
  • apple - 1 medium, peeled and diced
  • vegetable oil - for cooking

Steps

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and sugar until well combined.
  2. In another bowl, mix the milk, egg, applesauce, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined; do not overmix. Gently fold in the diced apple.
