Ingredients
- Chicken liver - 250 grams
- Onion - 1 medium, chopped
- Garlic - 1 clove, minced
- Unsalted butter - 30 grams
- Hard-boiled egg - 1, chopped
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Paprika - 1/4 teaspoon
- Fresh parsley - 1 tablespoon, chopped
- Lemon juice - 1 teaspoon
Steps
- In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat and add the chopped onions. Sauté until the onions are translucent, about 5-7 minutes.
- Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.
- Increase the heat to medium-high and add the chicken livers. Season with salt, black pepper, and paprika. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until the livers are browned and cooked through, stirring occasionally.
- Remove the skillet from heat and let the mixture cool slightly.
- Transfer the liver mixture to a food processor. Add the chopped hard-boiled egg, fresh parsley, and lemon juice.
- Blend until smooth, adjusting seasoning as necessary. If the mixture is too thick, you can add a little water or olive oil to achieve your desired consistency.
- Transfer the chopped liver to a serving dish, cover, and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to allow the flavors to meld.
- Serve chilled or at room temperature with crackers or bread.
