- Chipotle powder - 1 teaspoon
- Lime juice - 2 tablespoons
- Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Avocado - 1 medium, sliced
- Leafy lettuce (for wrapping) - 4 large leaves
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Cheddar cheese - 2 slices
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, chipotle powder, lime juice, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined.
- Form the mixture into two equal-sized patties, about 2 cm thick.
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add olive oil.
- Once the oil is hot, place the patties in the skillet and cook for 5-6 minutes on one side until browned.
- Flip the patties and place a slice of cheddar cheese on each. Cook for an additional 5-6 minutes until the cheese is melted and the patties reach your desired doneness.
- While the burgers are cooking, prepare the avocado by slicing it and setting it aside.
- Once the burgers are done, remove them from the skillet and let them rest for a couple of minutes.
- To assemble, place one patty on a large leaf of lettuce, top with avocado slices, and add another lettuce leaf on top as a wrap. Repeat for the second burger.
