Ingredients

  • Ground beef (80/20) - 400 grams
  • Chipotle powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Lime juice - 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Avocado - 1 medium, sliced
  • Leafy lettuce (for wrapping) - 4 large leaves
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Cheddar cheese - 2 slices

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, chipotle powder, lime juice, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined.
  2. Form the mixture into two equal-sized patties, about 2 cm thick.
  3. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add olive oil.
  4. Once the oil is hot, place the patties in the skillet and cook for 5-6 minutes on one side until browned.
  5. Flip the patties and place a slice of cheddar cheese on each. Cook for an additional 5-6 minutes until the cheese is melted and the patties reach your desired doneness.
  6. While the burgers are cooking, prepare the avocado by slicing it and setting it aside.
  7. Once the burgers are done, remove them from the skillet and let them rest for a couple of minutes.
  8. To assemble, place one patty on a large leaf of lettuce, top with avocado slices, and add another lettuce leaf on top as a wrap. Repeat for the second burger.
