- Maple syrup - 1 tablespoon
- Apple cider vinegar - 1 tablespoon
- Smoked paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
- Onion powder - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Cornstarch - 2 tablespoons
- Fresh cilantro - for garnish (optional)
Steps
- Press the tofu for 15 minutes to remove excess moisture, then cut it into 1-inch cubes.
- In a bowl, combine chopped chipotle peppers, olive oil, maple syrup, apple cider vinegar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper to create the marinade.
- Add the cubed tofu to the marinade and gently toss to coat. Allow it to marinate for at least 10 minutes.
- Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. While it heats, sprinkle cornstarch over the marinated tofu and toss to coat evenly.
- Grill the tofu cubes for about 6-8 minutes, turning occasionally, until they are golden brown and slightly crispy on all sides.
