- Green bell pepper - 1 medium, diced
- Chili powder - 1 tablespoon
- Cumin - 1 teaspoon
- Paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Water - 200 milliliters
- Fresh cilantro - for garnish
Steps
- Heat olive oil in a medium pot over medium heat. Add chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes.
- Add minced garlic and diced green bell pepper to the pot, cooking for an additional 3-4 minutes until they soften.
- Increase the heat to medium-high and add the ground beef. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon, about 5-7 minutes.
- Stir in chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Cook for 1-2 minutes until the spices are fragrant.
- Add the diced tomatoes and kidney beans to the pot. Pour in the water and stir to combine.
