Ingredients

  • Ground beef - 400 grams (80% lean)
  • Chili seasoning mix - 2 tablespoons
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Cheddar cheese - 100 grams, shredded
  • Burger buns - 2
  • Lettuce leaves - 2
  • Tomato - 1, sliced
  • Onion - 1/2, sliced
  • Jalapeños - 2, sliced (optional)
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, chili seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until fully combined.
  2. Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape them into burger patties.
  3. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add olive oil. Once hot, place the burger patties in the skillet.
  4. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness.
  5. During the last minute of cooking, place the shredded cheddar cheese on top of each patty and cover the skillet to melt the cheese.
  6. While the burgers are cooking, toast the burger buns in a separate pan or under the broiler until golden brown.
  7. Assemble the burgers by placing a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun, followed by the cheeseburger patty, tomato slices, onion slices, and jalapeños if using. Top with the other half of the bun.
