Ingredients

  • Chicken breast - 300 grams
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
  • Ground cumin - 1 teaspoon
  • Ground coriander - 1 teaspoon
  • Paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Ground turmeric - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Pita bread - 2 pieces
  • Lettuce - 1 cup, shredded
  • Tomato - 1 medium, diced
  • Cucumber - 1 small, diced
  • Red onion - 1/4, thinly sliced
  • Yogurt - 1/2 cup
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Fresh parsley - 1/4 cup, chopped

Steps

  1. In a bowl, combine olive oil, minced garlic, cumin, coriander, paprika, turmeric, salt, and black pepper to create the marinade.
  2. Cut the chicken breast into thin strips and add to the marinade, ensuring all pieces are well coated. Cover and let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes.
  3. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat and cook the marinated chicken for about 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until fully cooked and slightly charred.
  4. While the chicken is cooking, prepare the garlic yogurt sauce by mixing the yogurt, lemon juice, and half of the chopped parsley in a bowl. Season with a pinch of salt.
  5. Warm the pita bread in a dry skillet or microwave for a few seconds until pliable.
  6. To assemble the wrap, place a generous amount of shredded lettuce, diced tomato, cucumber, and red onion on each pita.
  7. Add the cooked chicken strips on top and drizzle with the garlic yogurt sauce.
  8. Sprinkle the remaining parsley over the top, then roll the pita tightly to enclose the filling. Cut in half and serve immediately.
