- Blue crabs - 600 grams
- Small red potatoes - 300 grams
- Fresh corn on the cob - 2 ears, halved
- Andouille sausage - 200 grams, sliced
- Old Bay seasoning - 2 tablespoons
- Water - 2 liters
- Lemon - 1, cut into wedges
- Garlic - 4 cloves, crushed
- Bay leaves - 2
- Salt - 1 tablespoon
Steps
- In a large pot, bring 2 liters of water to a boil and add 1 tablespoon of salt.
- Once boiling, add the red potatoes and cook for about 10 minutes until they start to soften.
- Add the sliced Andouille sausage, crushed garlic, bay leaves, and Old Bay seasoning to the pot. Stir well.
- After another 5 minutes, add the corn halves and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
- Finally, gently add the blue crabs to the pot, cover, and cook for another 10-15 minutes until the crabs are bright orange and cooked through.
- Remove the pot from heat, let it cool slightly, then drain the liquid.
- Serve the crab boil on a large platter, garnished with lemon wedges.
