Ingredients

  • Fresh cheese curds - 250 grams
  • All-purpose flour - 1/2 cup (60 grams)
  • Egg - 1 large
  • Milk - 1/4 cup (60 ml)
  • Breadcrumbs - 1 cup (100 grams)
  • Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Onion powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Paprika - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Vegetable oil - for frying

Steps

  1. In a shallow bowl, combine the flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together the egg and milk until well combined.
  3. Place the breadcrumbs in a third bowl.
  4. Dip each cheese curd first into the flour mixture, shaking off any excess, then into the egg mixture, and finally into the breadcrumbs, ensuring they are fully coated.
  5. Heat the vegetable oil in a deep pan over medium heat until it reaches 180°C (350°F).
  6. Carefully add the coated cheese curds to the hot oil in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pan.
  7. Fry the cheese curds for about 2-3 minutes or until they are golden brown and crispy.
  8. Remove the curds from the oil and let them drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
  9. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce.
