  • Fresh lemon juice - 30 milliliters
  • Red onion - 50 grams, finely chopped
  • Tomato - 1 medium, diced
  • Cilantro - 15 grams, chopped
  • Jalapeño - 1 small, finely diced (optional)
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Corn tostadas - 4 pieces
  • Avocado - 1 small, sliced

Steps

  1. Dice the fresh tilapia fillet into small cubes and place it in a bowl.
  2. Add the fresh lime juice and lemon juice to the bowl, ensuring the fish is fully submerged. Cover and refrigerate for 15-20 minutes until the fish turns opaque.
  3. Once the fish is 'cooked' in the citrus juice, drain any excess liquid.
  4. Mix in the finely chopped red onion, diced tomato, chopped cilantro, jalapeño (if using), salt, and black pepper. Stir gently to combine.
  5. Drizzle the olive oil over the mixture and toss lightly to incorporate.
  6. To assemble, place a generous portion of the ceviche mixture on each corn tostada.
  7. Top with slices of avocado and serve immediately.
