Ingredients

  • Chicken breast - 500 grams
  • Apple cider vinegar - 100 ml
  • Brown sugar - 30 grams
  • Mustard - 1 tablespoon
  • Worcestershire sauce (Halal) - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Onion powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Red pepper flakes - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Brioche buns - 2
  • Coleslaw (optional) - 100 grams

Steps

  1. In a medium bowl, combine apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, salt, and red pepper flakes to create the sauce.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chicken breasts and sear for about 5 minutes on each side until browned.
  3. Pour the sauce over the chicken in the skillet, cover, and reduce heat to low. Simmer for 25-30 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and tender.
  4. Remove the chicken from the skillet and shred it using two forks. Return the shredded chicken to the skillet and stir to coat it in the sauce.
  5. Toast the brioche buns lightly on a skillet or grill. Serve the pulled chicken on the buns, topped with coleslaw if desired.
