- Firm tofu - 400 grams
- Yellow mustard - 60 ml
- Apple cider vinegar - 30 ml
- Maple syrup - 15 ml
- Olive oil - 15 ml
- Smoked paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
- Onion powder - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Coleslaw mix - 200 grams
- Vegan mayonnaise - 30 ml
- Salt and pepper to taste - to preference
- Buns (dairy-free) - 2
Steps
- Press the tofu for 15 minutes to remove excess water, then cut it into 1 cm thick slices.
- In a bowl, mix together yellow mustard, apple cider vinegar, maple syrup, olive oil, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt to create the marinade.
- Place the tofu slices in the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Let it marinate for at least 10 minutes.
- While the tofu is marinating, prepare the coleslaw by mixing the coleslaw mix with vegan mayonnaise, and season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Preheat a grill or a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the marinated tofu slices for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and slightly crispy.
