- Canned chickpeas - 400 grams, drained and rinsed
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Smoked paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
- Onion powder - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Apple cider vinegar - 2 tablespoons
- Maple syrup - 1 tablespoon
- BBQ sauce - 1/4 cup
- Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped (for garnish)
Steps
- Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).
- In a mixing bowl, combine the drained chickpeas, olive oil, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt. Toss well to coat the chickpeas evenly.
- Spread the seasoned chickpeas on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 20 minutes, stirring halfway through, until they are slightly crispy.
- In a small saucepan, mix together the apple cider vinegar, maple syrup, and BBQ sauce. Heat over low heat until warmed through.
- Once the chickpeas are done baking, remove them from the oven and drizzle the warm BBQ sauce mixture over them, tossing to coat evenly.
- Return the chickpeas to the oven for an additional 5 minutes to allow the sauce to caramelize slightly.
- Remove from the oven, garnish with chopped parsley, and serve hot.
