Ingredients

  • Yellow onions - 2 medium (about 300g)
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons (30ml)
  • Cream cheese - 100g
  • Sour cream - 50g
  • Mayonnaise - 2 tablespoons (30g)
  • Garlic powder - 1/2 teaspoon (2g)
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon (3g)
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon (1g)
  • Fresh chives - 2 tablespoons (10g), chopped

Steps

  1. Peel and slice the yellow onions thinly.
  2. In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and cook, stirring occasionally, until they are soft and golden brown, about 20-25 minutes.
  3. Once the onions are caramelized, remove them from heat and let them cool slightly.
  4. In a mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, sour cream, mayonnaise, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until smooth and well combined.
  5. Fold in the caramelized onions and chopped chives until evenly distributed.
  6. Transfer the dip to a serving bowl and refrigerate for at least 15 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
  7. Serve with chips, crackers, or vegetable sticks.
