Ingredients

  • 2 medium apples - peeled, cored, and sliced
  • 50g brown sugar
  • 30g unsalted butter - melted
  • 50g rolled oats
  • 30g all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 60ml caramel sauce
  • 30g chopped walnuts (optional)
  • Vanilla ice cream (for serving)

Steps

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. In a bowl, toss the sliced apples with 25g of brown sugar and half of the ground cinnamon. Place the apples in a small baking dish.
  3. In another bowl, combine the rolled oats, flour, remaining brown sugar, remaining cinnamon, salt, and melted butter. Mix until crumbly.
  4. Sprinkle the oat mixture evenly over the apples in the baking dish.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the apples are tender and the topping is golden brown.
  6. Drizzle caramel sauce over the baked crisp and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
  7. Serve warm, optionally topped with vanilla ice cream.
