Ingredients

  • Cherry tomatoes - 12 pieces
  • Fresh mozzarella balls (bocconcini) - 12 pieces (about 150g)
  • Fresh basil leaves - 12 leaves
  • Extra virgin olive oil - 1 tablespoon (15ml)
  • Balsamic glaze - 1 tablespoon (15ml)
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste
  • Skewers - 2 (either wooden or metal)

Steps

  1. Start by rinsing the cherry tomatoes and basil leaves under cold water. Pat them dry with a paper towel.
  2. If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for about 10 minutes to prevent burning.
  3. On each skewer, thread one cherry tomato, followed by a mozzarella ball, then a basil leaf. Repeat this pattern until the skewer is filled, leaving space at the ends for handling.
  4. Once all skewers are assembled, drizzle the extra virgin olive oil over them and sprinkle with salt and black pepper to taste.
  5. Drizzle balsamic glaze over the skewers just before serving for an extra layer of flavor.
  6. Serve immediately and enjoy your refreshing Caprese Salad Skewers!
