Ingredients

  • Ground turkey - 250 grams
  • Cajun seasoning - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Onion powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Whole grain burger buns - 2
  • Lettuce leaves - 2
  • Tomato - 1, sliced
  • Avocado - 1/2, sliced
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine ground turkey, Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well blended.
  2. Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, about 1.5 cm thick.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the turkey patties to the skillet.
  4. Cook the patties for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until they reach an internal temperature of 75°C (165°F) and are golden brown.
  5. While the patties are cooking, toast the whole grain burger buns in a toaster or on a separate skillet until lightly browned.
  6. Assemble the burgers by placing a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun, followed by the turkey patty, sliced tomato, and avocado. Top with the other half of the bun.
  7. Serve immediately with your favorite healthy side.
