- whole wheat burger buns - 2
- olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- green bell pepper - 1/2, diced
- red onion - 1/2, diced
- garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Cajun seasoning - 2 teaspoons
- salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- lettuce leaves - 2
- tomato - 1, sliced
- avocado - 1/2, sliced
Steps
- In a large bowl, combine the ground turkey, Cajun seasoning, salt, black pepper, diced green bell pepper, diced red onion, and minced garlic. Mix until well combined.
- Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape them into patties.
- Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the patties and cook for about 5-6 minutes per side, or until the internal temperature reaches 74°C (165°F).
- While the burgers are cooking, toast the whole wheat buns in a separate pan until golden brown.
- Assemble the burgers by placing a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun, followed by the cooked patty, a slice of tomato, and sliced avocado. Top with the other half of the bun.
