  • whole wheat burger buns - 2
  • olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • green bell pepper - 1/2, diced
  • red onion - 1/2, diced
  • garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Cajun seasoning - 2 teaspoons
  • salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • lettuce leaves - 2
  • tomato - 1, sliced
  • avocado - 1/2, sliced

Steps

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground turkey, Cajun seasoning, salt, black pepper, diced green bell pepper, diced red onion, and minced garlic. Mix until well combined.
  2. Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape them into patties.

  4. While the burgers are cooking, toast the whole wheat buns in a separate pan until golden brown.
  5. Assemble the burgers by placing a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun, followed by the cooked patty, a slice of tomato, and sliced avocado. Top with the other half of the bun.
  6. Serve immediately with your favorite healthy sides.
