- Water - 1 liter
- Heavy cream - 60 ml
- Butter - 30 grams
- Cajun seasoning - 2 teaspoons
- Garlic (minced) - 2 cloves
- Green onions (sliced) - 2 tablespoons
- Parmesan cheese (grated) - 30 grams
- Salt - to taste
- Black pepper - to taste
Steps
- In a medium saucepan, bring 1 liter of water to a boil and add a pinch of salt.
- Gradually stir in the grits, reduce heat to low, and cook for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until creamy.
- In the last few minutes of cooking the grits, stir in the heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, and 10 grams of butter. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper.
- While the grits are cooking, heat a skillet over medium heat and add the remaining 20 grams of butter.
- Once the butter has melted, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add the shrimp to the skillet, sprinkle with Cajun seasoning, and cook for about 3-4 minutes until the shrimp turn pink and opaque.
- Stir in the sliced green onions and cook for an additional minute.
- To serve, spoon the creamy grits onto two plates and top with the Cajun shrimp mixture. Garnish with extra green onions if desired.
