- Buttermilk - 120 ml
- All-purpose flour - 100 grams
- Cornmeal - 50 grams
- Cajun seasoning - 2 tablespoons
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
- Onion powder - 1 teaspoon
- Paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Vegetable oil (for frying) - 500 ml
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine the buttermilk, Cajun seasoning, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika. Add the shrimp and let them marinate for at least 15 minutes.
- In another bowl, mix the all-purpose flour and cornmeal together.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a deep frying pan or pot over medium-high heat until it reaches 180°C (350°F).

- Carefully place the coated shrimp in the hot oil, cooking in batches to avoid overcrowding. Fry for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
- Using a slotted spoon, remove the shrimp from the oil and drain on paper towels. Season with additional Cajun seasoning if desired.
- Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
