- Cooked rice - 100 grams
- Onion - 1 medium, diced
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Tomato sauce - 400 grams
- Diced tomatoes - 200 grams
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Oregano - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Vegetable broth - 250 ml
- Fresh parsley - for garnish
Steps
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Bring a large pot of water to a boil and add the whole cabbage. Blanch for about 5 minutes until the leaves are tender, then remove and let cool.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add diced onion and minced garlic, sautéing until translucent, about 5 minutes.
- Add ground turkey or beef to the skillet, cooking until browned. Mix in cooked rice, paprika, oregano, salt, and pepper, stirring well to combine.
- In a baking dish, spread a thin layer of tomato sauce on the bottom.
- Take a cabbage leaf, add a portion of the meat mixture, and roll it up tightly. Place seam-side down in the baking dish. Repeat until all the mixture is used.
- Pour the remaining tomato sauce and diced tomatoes over the cabbage rolls, then add vegetable broth around the edges.
- Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes.
- Once done, let it cool for a few minutes, garnish with fresh parsley, and serve.
