Ingredients

  • Green cabbage - 300 grams
  • Ground beef - 250 grams
  • Onion - 1 medium, diced
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Crushed tomatoes - 200 grams
  • Italian seasoning - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Shredded mozzarella cheese - 100 grams
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Remove the core from the cabbage and slice it into thin strips to create 'noodles'.
  3. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat and add the diced onion. Sauté until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Add the minced garlic and ground beef to the skillet. Cook until the beef is browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  5. Stir in the crushed tomatoes, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Let the mixture simmer for about 5 minutes.
  6. In a greased baking dish, layer half of the cabbage noodles on the bottom.
  7. Pour half of the beef mixture over the cabbage, followed by half of the mozzarella cheese.
  8. Repeat the layers with the remaining cabbage, beef mixture, and top with the remaining mozzarella cheese.
  9. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes.
  10. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  11. Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
