Ingredients

  • Ground beef - 250 grams
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Garlic powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Avocado - 1 medium, sliced
  • Tomato - 1 medium, sliced
  • Lettuce leaves - 4 large
  • Red onion - 1/4 medium, thinly sliced
  • Cheddar cheese - 2 slices
  • Mustard - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.
  2. Form the mixture into two equal-sized patties, about 1.5 cm thick.
  3. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the patties and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.
  4. During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty and cover the skillet to melt the cheese.
  5. While the patties are cooking, prepare the bunless burger base by laying the lettuce leaves on a plate.
  6. Once the patties are cooked, place each patty on top of the lettuce leaves.
  7. Top each patty with slices of avocado, tomato, and red onion.
  8. Drizzle mustard over the top and serve immediately.
