Ingredients
- Ground beef - 300 grams (85% lean)
- Blue cheese - 50 grams, crumbled
- Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
- Onion powder - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Butter - 1 tablespoon
- Lettuce leaves (for wrapping) - 4 large leaves
- Tomato - 1 medium, sliced
- Red onion - 1/4 medium, sliced
- Pickles - 4 slices
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.
- Divide the meat mixture into two equal portions and shape them into patties, about 1.5 cm thick.
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and melt the butter. Once the butter is sizzling, add the patties to the skillet.
- Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip them and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes or until they reach your desired doneness.
- In the last minute of cooking, sprinkle the crumbled blue cheese on top of each patty to allow it to melt slightly.
- Remove the patties from the skillet and let them rest for a minute.
- To assemble, place each patty on a large lettuce leaf, top with tomato slices, red onion, and pickles. Wrap the lettuce around the patty to create a burger.
