Ingredients

  • White fish fillets (e.g. cod or tilapia) - 300 grams
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Paprika - 1 tablespoon
  • Cayenne pepper - 1 teaspoon
  • Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Onion powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Lime - 1, juiced
  • Sour cream - 60 grams
  • Cabbage, finely shredded - 1 cup
  • Cilantro, chopped - 2 tablespoons
  • Avocado, sliced - 1 medium
  • Lettuce leaves (for wraps) - 4 large leaves

Steps

  1. In a small bowl, mix the paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper to create a seasoning blend.
  2. Rub the seasoning blend evenly over both sides of the fish fillets.
  3. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  4. Add the seasoned fish fillets to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until the fish is cooked through and has a blackened crust. Remove from heat and let rest for a couple of minutes.
  5. While the fish is resting, prepare the lime crema by mixing sour cream and lime juice in a small bowl. Set aside.
  6. In a separate bowl, combine the shredded cabbage and chopped cilantro. Add lime juice, salt, and toss to combine.
  7. To assemble the tacos, place a few pieces of blackened fish on a lettuce leaf, top with the cabbage slaw, avocado slices, and a drizzle of lime crema.
  8. Serve immediately and enjoy your delicious blackened fish tacos!
