Ingredients
- Bison ground meat - 400 grams
- Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
- Onion powder - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Worcestershire sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Burger buns - 2 pieces
- Lettuce leaves - 2 pieces
- Tomato - 1 medium, sliced
- Red onion - 1/4 medium, sliced
- Cheddar cheese - 2 slices (optional)
- Mustard - 1 tablespoon (optional)
Steps
- In a large bowl, combine the bison ground meat with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix gently until just combined.
- Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape each into a patty, about 2 cm thick.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the bison patties to the skillet.
- Cook the patties for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium doneness, or until they reach your desired level of doneness. If using cheese, place a slice on each patty during the last minute of cooking to melt.
- While the patties are cooking, toast the burger buns in another skillet or on a grill until golden brown.
- Assemble the burgers by placing a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun, followed by the bison patty, tomato slices, and red onion. Add mustard if desired.
- Top with the other half of the bun and serve immediately.
