  • bison ground meat - 300 grams
  • blue cheese - 50 grams, crumbled
  • whole wheat burger buns - 2
  • baby spinach - 50 grams
  • tomato - 1, sliced
  • red onion - 1/4, thinly sliced
  • garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
  • black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • mustard - 1 tablespoon (optional)

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the bison ground meat, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently until just combined.
  2. Divide the mixture into 2 equal portions and shape each into a patty about 2 cm thick.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the bison patties and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach an internal temperature of 70°C (160°F).
  4. During the last minute of cooking, place crumbled blue cheese on top of each patty, cover the skillet with a lid, and let it melt.
  5. While the patties are cooking, toast the whole wheat burger buns in a separate pan or under the broiler until golden brown.
