Ingredients
- Beef short ribs - 800 grams
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
- Onion powder - 1 teaspoon
- Paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Liquid smoke - 1 teaspoon
- Apple cider vinegar - 2 tablespoons
- Beef broth - 250 ml
- Sugar-free barbecue sauce - 100 ml
Steps
- Preheat your oven to 150°C (300°F).
- In a large bowl, mix garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, black pepper, salt, and liquid smoke to create a rub.
- Pat the beef short ribs dry and rub the spice mixture all over the meat.
- In a large oven-safe pot or Dutch oven, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Sear the short ribs on all sides until browned, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- Remove the short ribs and set aside. In the same pot, add apple cider vinegar and scrape the bottom to deglaze the pot.
- Return the short ribs to the pot and add beef broth and sugar-free barbecue sauce.
- Cover the pot and transfer it to the oven. Cook for 3-4 hours until the meat is tender and falling off the bone.
- Once done, remove from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before serving.
