  • Beef brisket - 500 grams

  • Celery - 2 stalks, chopped
  • Beef broth - 250 ml
  • Brown sugar - 2 tablespoons
  • Paprika - 1 tablespoon
  • Ground black pepper - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Dried thyme - 1 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons

Steps

  1. Preheat your oven to 150°C (300°F).
  2. In a large oven-safe pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat, then add the sliced onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add the minced garlic, chopped carrots, and celery, and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
  4. Rub the beef brisket with salt, black pepper, paprika, thyme, and brown sugar, ensuring an even coating.
  5. Place the brisket in the pot with the sautéed vegetables, and pour the beef broth over it.
  6. Cover the pot with a lid or aluminum foil and place it in the preheated oven.
  7. Cook for 3 to 4 hours, or until the brisket is tender and easily shreds with a fork.
  8. Remove from the oven and let it rest for 15 minutes before slicing against the grain.
  9. Serve warm with the cooked vegetables and pan juices.
