Ingredients

  • Beef sirloin - 250 grams, thinly sliced
  • Bell pepper (red) - 1 medium, sliced
  • Bell pepper (green) - 1 medium, sliced
  • Onion - 1 medium, sliced
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Cumin - 1 teaspoon
  • Paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Chili powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Lime - 1, juiced
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Tortillas (flour or corn) - 4, warm
  • Fresh cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped (for garnish)
  • Sour cream - for serving (optional)
  • Salsa - for serving (optional)

Steps

  1. In a bowl, combine the sliced beef, minced garlic, cumin, paprika, chili powder, lime juice, olive oil, salt, and black pepper. Mix well and let it marinate for about 15 minutes.
  2. While the beef is marinating, slice the bell peppers and onion into thin strips.
  3. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add a tablespoon of olive oil to the skillet.
  4. Once the oil is hot, add the marinated beef to the skillet and cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until browned and cooked through. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
  5. In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil and the sliced onions and bell peppers. Sauté for about 5-6 minutes until the vegetables are tender and slightly caramelized.
  6. Return the cooked beef to the skillet with the vegetables, stirring to combine and heat through for another 2 minutes.
  7. Remove from heat and serve the beef and vegetable mixture on warm tortillas, garnished with chopped cilantro. Add sour cream and salsa if desired.
