  • Halal ground beef - 250 grams
  • Potato - 1 medium, diced
  • Carrot - 1 medium, diced
  • Bell pepper - 1 medium, diced
  • Onion - 1 small, chopped
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Dried oregano - 1 teaspoon
  • Dried thyme - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Beef broth - 100 ml
  • Cheddar cheese - 50 grams, grated
  • Fresh parsley - for garnish

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, sautéing until fragrant and translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Stir in the diced potato, carrot, bell pepper, dried oregano, dried thyme, salt, and black pepper. Cook for another 5 minutes until the vegetables begin to soften.
  5. Pour in the beef broth and bring the mixture to a simmer. Cook for an additional 5 minutes until the broth has slightly reduced.
  6. Transfer the beef and vegetable mixture to a baking dish, spreading it evenly.
  7. Sprinkle the grated cheddar cheese on top of the mixture.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  9. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley.
