Ingredients

  • Ground beef - 250 grams
  • Long-grain rice - 100 grams
  • Onion - 1 small, chopped
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Bell pepper - 1 medium, diced
  • Tomato sauce - 200 grams
  • Beef broth - 250 ml
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Cumin - 1 teaspoon
  • Paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Cheddar cheese - 50 grams, grated
  • Fresh parsley - for garnish

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, sautéing until the onion is translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Stir in the diced bell pepper, cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Cook for another 3 minutes until the bell pepper softens.
  5. Add the long-grain rice to the skillet, followed by the tomato sauce and beef broth. Bring to a simmer and let it cook for 2-3 minutes.
  6. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish, covering it with aluminum foil.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes.
  8. Remove the foil, sprinkle the grated cheddar cheese on top, and return to the oven for an additional 5-7 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  9. Remove from the oven, garnish with fresh parsley, and serve hot.
